SAFETY PROFILE:

Confirmed carcinogen with experimental carcinogenic, neoplastigenic, tumorigenic, and teratogenic data. A transplacental carcinogen. Human poison by ingestion. Experimental poison by ingestion, inhalation, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and intravenous routes. Human systemic effects by ingestion: ulceration or bleeding from small intestine, nausea or vomiting, and fever. Experimental reproductive effects. Human mutation data reported. Has caused fatal liver disease in humans. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx. See also NITROSAMINES.

When heated to decomposition, n-Nitrosodimethylamine emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides. Avoid exposure to ultraviolet light.
