This type of explosive is a mixture of nitrobenzene and fuming nitric acid. It is powerful, and would be widely used, were it not for practical disadvantages. The components have to be mixed in a glass container shortly before the explosive is used. This requires preparation and equipment not always available at the site of the explosion.
